Get away from it all on Lake Baringo
Lake Baringo is home to an incredible variety of birdlife, with over 450 species inhabiting the area, as well as hippo and crocodile. Boat trips on the Lake can be arranged in Sesse canoes. For great photographic shots, request afew fish be provided to entice the fish eagles to swoop down.
Visit Giraffe Island to see 8 Rothchilds giraffe, warthog, impala, hyrax, monkeys, pangolin, hippo and ostrich. The rangers will be happy to guide you. Visits are 500ksh per person.
The Lake has an abundance of Tilapia, aswell as course fish such as Catfish, Lungfish and Barbell.
There are some fishing rods but we recommend you bring your own kit.
Pack a sundowner bag and climb to the top of Teddy Bear Island for fantastic 360 degree sunset views.
Alternatively, stay in the camp, grab some cushions and head to the rock seating by the pool.
For boat trips please speak to John at Teddy Bear Island. It is advisable to book well in advance as the boat is also used by island residents. This can be arranged when booking the Camp or on arrival.
An alternative boat is available through Moses (see information on 'Getting There' page).
At present there is no boat available for hire for adult waterskiing on Lake Baringo.

Teddy Bear Island has two kayaks which you are welcome to use and a fantastic way to circumnavigate the island.
There is a single and a double kayak and life jackets.
